Rooney the future captain of England, thats my opinion anyway, hes only 19 or 20 and has got years to grow up mature and become a much better all round [no pun] player and if you ask me the sooner he leaves manure and goes to Chelsea the sooner he will become the captain. If not rooney who, christ who would have thought Beckham would become the captain the whole country wanted to hang him in 98, not a chance anyone would have predicted he would be such along term skipper and hes virtually talentless.Rooney without question has tonnes of talent hes driven commited and agressive. The only thing against him at present is hes young, that and the fact that hes a scouser.Mind you if you took all the scousers out the team there would be no team.Lets see them win without him, or gerrard for that matter:focus:

When a player is exceptionally talented as rooney is they can demand the captaincy role and to keep them happy managers except their demands. I think the question should be would he be a good captain i for one on evidence so far can not see that. Lets have he may well get mature with time, he may stop acting like thug, he may get smarter, he may get in better physical shape, he may grow out of being a kid, he may posses leadership skills....etc. To many maybe frankly more chance of Shearer scoring the winning goal in the world cup final.

agree Rooney could be one day, but not for a long time. John Terry next.

The next captain must be Gerrard without a doubt.

Pupdoggy dog I used to think you had some sense and intelligence when it came to verbalising your opinions ,but mate this is effing mentalist stuff, Rooney a total jargoon who cant control himself on or off the pitch whats more its never his fault no matter what he does, sleeps with prostitutes and grannies not his fault, looses a fortune of his own money gambling not his fault,Michael Owens apparently, get sent off at WC not his fault no it never is mate, just look at his face and his reaction to referees decisions. The man has no capacity to control even his own thoughts.Whats more hes a complete Dickhead who without football would be hanging around Behind the back of the flats and shop doorways. His fall cant come soon enough for me personally.I even prefer to see Crouch playing for England over him.HE cannot take discipline, not from Moyes and not from Ferguson.Hes a childish mercenery footballer who's farking highly overrated.RVN was far more valuble a footballer for Manu than him. He will never produce lots of goals each season, great goals yes but not lots of them nad never more than 10 or 12.I predict he will be at another club within two years, fairly soon after FErguson leaves that for sure.........Here endeth the rant
