I play high school football, and I've always had trouble getting mentally prepared for the game. I'll listen to the pump up music, picturing myself succeeding, the usual. But it seems like at kick off, my head isn't always is (it usually is, but sometimes it's not). And sometimes I get almost to zoned it, it's hard to explain. So, what do you guys do to be completely zoned in before a game?

I think you should get enough rest before your game, and always think that you will win so that it will inspire you when you're playing.

I also listen to some good music to keep my energy running and the important thing is that I get together with my teammates and plan the whole game. This gives us a good team spirit and ends up in good teamwork.

If football is your favorite sport you will absolutely condition yourself for every game. If this is the kind of sport that interests you most then why not take a break and pamper yourself. I do understand that sometimes when it's the usual thing you do everyday you might feel exhausted but if you know within you that you like it but it's just that you feel like you are not 100% ready better to divert your attention to other activities but prioritize football still as I know it's your favorite game.

Try to do below things before start a game, I think those are really work.
• Build your confidence gradually.
• Begin your preparation by focusing your mind on the upcoming game.
• Familiarize yourself with the tactical and planned requirements of your upcoming game.
• Develop a routine to get yourself into a mental state that is best suited to peak performance.
• Visualize success.

Make yourself physically and mentally confident prior to taking part in the game. Also practice is most important. Try to finish practicing at least one day prior to the game. Finally have a good sleep and participate in the game.

The first thing I do is not underestimate my opponent and then I think of all the sport movies winning part and later listen to some hip hop songs and make myself ready to roll.
