Following the publication of the latest World Club Rankings by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics the Reds are today sitting proud as the top team in world football.

Based on domestic and continental results over the past 12 months, the reigning Champions of Europe are listed as the number one club side on the planet and who are we to argue?

"The World Club Ranking is a precise classification showing the real level of the clubs free of any subjective influence," reads a statement on the IFFHS website. "It is the result of a profound analysis that allows us to fairly report the level of international performance for each country."

The formula used to determine these rankings are complicate.

But for now, sit back and bask in the glory of being able to look down on every other team in the world...

I think Liverpool are one of the top clubs when you take history into account but on current form I would have to say someone like Barca (that is history combined with current form).
