Default NO ! To Liverpool In Champions League 2005/2006

I cannot be the only football fan NOT a supporter of Liverpool FC to be fed up with the powerful media campaign to get the club into next seasons Champions League.
Liverpool FC have a unique relationship with the media whereby in comparison with other clubs their successes are celebrated & hyped on a vastly higher scale & any failings are treated with comparitive kid gloves. With Liverpool FC there is NEVER a sense of perspective.
When previously in the history of the game have rules been changed retrospectively ?
    Answer …. NEVER !!
In principle I believe a team should have the opportunity to defend a trophy won but as the rules currently don't allow for it then TOUGH LUCK !!
If there is a unanimous belief that the rules are flawed then as is normal, change them going forward.

Its hard to sympathise with Liverpool when it could be argued they were extremely fortunate to have been in this season's Champions League having finished a mammoth 30 pts behind previous Premiership Champions Arsenal.
In this Premiership Season they have amazingly finished a whopping 37 pts behind Premiership Champions Chelsea. Liverpool FC lost a staggering 14 matches in the Premiership this season (Arsenal FC have lost 14 matches in the last 5 seasons !) and lost out on Champions League qualification to Everton a team who came 17th the previous season & this season sold their Superstar player & their next best player whilst operating on a shoestring budget.
It is interesting Sepp Blatter of FIFA is supporting a rule change to include Liverpool FC in next season's Champions League despite his instigation of a rule change that the holders of the World Cup do NOT now have automatic qualification into the next World Cup Finals.
If Brazil fail to qualify in the South American section for entry to the 2006 World Cup then there will be no rule change to include Brazil in those finals.
In the Olympic Games, Champions don't have automatic qualification into the next Olympic games.
If an American Olympic Champion is injured at the time of their Olympic trials then its tough luck & they are not entered.

The Daily Mail is running a vociferous campaign to get Liverpool FC into next seasons Champions League whereby they want readers to email championing Liverpool's cause to……

    Info@uefa.com also sending a copy to liverpool@dailymail.co.uk

Fans of Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton & Manchester United I ask you ………

If it was your club in Liverpool's position, do you honestly believe the media would be so passionate & vociferous in your club's cause ? NO!! I don't think so !!

Arsenal & Everton fans should remember that they were denied in the late 1980's a season each of participation in the European Cup due to the conduct of Liverpool fans at Heysel in 1985.

I strongly urge fans of the above clubs to email the above email addresses & say a big NO ! NO ! to Liverpool FC. Also urge friends/other fans to do the same !
It is very important for them to realise that there is NOT a unanimous backing in England to Liverpool’s quest to be included in next season’s Champions League.

    Many thanks !!

NAR MATE WE DON'T HAVE SUCH A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH THE MEDIA BECAUSE WE'RE NOT A LONDON CLUB AND WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FANS NATION-WIDE TO SATISFY THE NESWPAPER'S QUOTA - THEY WANT TO SELL AS MANY PAPERS AS THEY CAN AND WRITING ABOUT LIVERPOOL ISN'T GOING TO MAKE A CHELSKI FAND OR ARSENAL FAN PICK IT UP.

BUT THERE'S BAISED TOWARDS SUCCESSFUL CLUBS AND THOSE DOWN SOUTH.

ALSO, NEWSPAPERS LIKE THE S*N WROTE LIES ABOUT LIVERPOOL FANS AFTER THE EVENTS AT HILLSBROUGH; LIKE THEY'D ROBBED THE DEAD AND ****ED ON THEM FOR A LAUGH.

You must be joking regarding the amount of Liverpool fans in the country. Due to their dominance in the 70's & 80's a whole generation of fans who never have travelled north of Watford wear Liverpool shirts & are 'passionate' fans ! A substantial % of Liverpool season ticketholders are from outside of the North West.
With exception of the Sun's reprting on Hillsborough, the media today & in the past have been sweeter to Liverpool than any other team. If Houllier had managed any other club as poorly as he managed Liverpool he would have been hounded out of the job much sooner.

Well Yer The Kop Is Full Of Paki's And Asians, But I Disagree With Your Comment On Liverpool And The Media, Liverpool Fans Were Sterotyped For Years After The Hysel And Hillsbrough Tragedies As Yobs.

But A Point Aside That, Why Don't You Want To See Liverpool In The C.l. I Know Perhaps Alot Of Mancs And Cockney's Woudn't Want To See It But We Are The Defending Champions. A Few Years Back Real M. Won The C.l. And Finised Outside The Top 4; And The Fourth Place Team, Real Zaragoza, Were Put In The Uefa Cup.

Rafa Summed It Up When He Said: "Winning the Champions League with Liverpool was the biggest night of my life in football. It was fantastic. The champions must defend the title. I was thinking the other day that if you go to play the European Super Cup and play the Inter-Continental Cup and you are not in the Champions League that is not common sense."

It's like I said in my original message, I am in principle in favour of teams defending cups won but never before have rules been changed retrospectively. There are plenty of other examples where Champions are denied the opportunity to defend their crown.
If Liverpool are admitted now then another team/s loses out in some way at this late stage. UEFA should change the rules from next season.
Liverpool the Club, People & the City despite what the Sun Newspaper reported after Hillsborough have not suffered damaged repuation & to this day & previously back to their dominant era enjoy favour from the media as a whole. No other club would have such media backing campaigning on their behalf.

so you dont follow a football team you just want to see the law upheld is that it?
Personally unless you or whoever has some direct grievence with liverpool fc it should not matter if they play in the C/L next season or not.

I am a mad liverpool fan but really i dont care if we are not in the thing next season or not purely because we have just won it and the whole footballing world knows that raffa is doing big things at anfield (well everyone except Josh that is)and will have no trouble signing the players he wants so IN or OUT makes no diff to me.
Personally i like letter on 365 which says give arsenals spot to liverpool because arsenal never do **** all in the champs league and wont be missed

And i certainly dont and never have thought that Liverpool get pro media bias ever

A lucky, scratchy route through to the Champions League Final......... 14 Defeats in the Premiership & a pathetic exit out of the FA Cup are NOT proof of 'Raffa doing big things' !!
He may sign good players he's worked with or knows from Spain but Liverpool will not buy any of the World's top players.
If Liverpool are offering Traore a new deal, Raffa should learn the saying........'You can't polish a turd !!'
