Default An open letter to fans

    Dear ?

!"£$%^&*+ FC is obviously very important to you.

The future of football is very important to us.

That’s why we want to give £700,000 to football clubs every month of the season.

Do you want to help multiply your club’s chances of winning up to £500,000 a month?

We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals who can give up a couple of hours a month and fulfil key roles in our organisation.

The GOAL Society needs help from one fan at every football club in the country to act as our Club Co-ordinator.

    Could that person be you?

The post would involve communicating our message to any group of your club’s supporters you can find.

This might be at websites, discussion forums and blogs; supporters clubs, associations and trusts; fanzines, newspapers and magazines – anywhere, in fact, where your club’s fans exchange views and information.

Don’t worry, we don’t need you to talk to anyone – either in person or over the telephone.

Instead, we would provide you with a master copy of our introductory promotional letter which you would post or email to the groups you identify.

All negotiations with the club itself will be initiated by the Society – we want you to concentrate on supporters’ groups.

The position of Club Co-ordinator will be a voluntary one – there’s no payment because we want to concentrate on putting funds into football clubs.

However, as a Club Co-ordinator you will be entitled to attend and vote at our General Council meetings, representing your club’s fans and having a direct say in our policies and campaigns.

We’re still negotiating sponsorship and those discounts, so we don’t need you to do anything now, but we do want our team of Club Co-ordinators in place before our launch later this year.

So, if you’re interested in maximising your club’s chances of winning the monthly top prize of £500,000 then let us know as soon as possible.

If, however, you’re not interested, please let us know within 7 days as we need to find someone to represent every single club in the country. Perhaps you might be able to suggest someone.

Please, even if you wish to make this commitment to helping your club, try to resist the temptation to send us emails requesting further information at the present time.

In the coming weeks, we will give you all the information you’ll need, as well as full details of our forthcoming website - which will explain everything.

The initial stages of setting this entire operation on its feet is a massive undertaking and we want to concentrate on getting that exactly right rather than fielding questions.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    J. Stephen Laing
    Campaigns Director
For The GOAL Society Executive Board.

    Who are The GOAL Society?

    We are:

    • A campaigning organisation for fans of all football clubs funded by sponsorship and member subscriptions.
    • Democratic, with a constitution based on the Supporters Direct model.
    • Negotiating with major companies to get our members great discounts on a great range of products and services.

    And:

    • Committed to donating £700,000 each month of the season to this country’s football clubs – in sums of £500,000; £150,000; and £50,000. That’s £6.3 million every year direct to football clubs.

    Plus:

    • Individual members have the chance to major cash prizes every month with an anticipated first prize of £25,000.
